A piece of automotive history, Nissan’s patented and rare to find, voice warning device, affectionately known as “Bitching Betty”, that reportedly came on randomly chosen 280ZX and Maxima models from the 1980’s.
Unit appears to be in excellent used condition, but has not been tested yet. Original, special rubber compound belt that drives record platter feels soft and pliable, suggesting use for many more years. Inside of unit is spotless clean and free of any signs of rust or moisture corrosion as if unit had been kept in a climate controlled museum!
See AD detail photos.

The internet abounds with uTube videos and forum discussions about this device including an interesting page at US Patent site describing the invention in detail. In time, I hope to publish a set of photos and modest write-up of my own on this most interesting piece of automotive parts history to publish under the RESOURCES/ZPTECH/ section of this site. My blog has a short post on this device titled “Bitchin Betty – What’s Inside” – Eric Neyerlin – owner of ZPARTS.COM
